About

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPC-A), Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC), and Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) practicing in the Charleston area. I received my Bachelor’s in Psychology from the College of Charleston and Master's in Clinical Counseling from Wake Forest University. I have worked in an outpatient therapeutic environment since 2016 with a variety of populations including, but not limited to, depression, anxiety, Bipolar Disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorders, ADHD, ODD, domestic violence, anger management, parent training, substance abuse, couples, and general life transitions and stress. Prior to pursuing my career in counseling, I started to work in the mental health field as an in-home Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) therapist working specifically with young toddlers and children with Autism Spectrum Disorders; I worked as a line therapist and a lead therapist for 4 years in the Charleston area. I incorporate a lot of these strategies into my counseling style as well when appropriate for my clients.

I offer effective individualized care using evidenced-based practices combined with an empathetic and strength-based approach. I provide a welcoming and neutral ground to individuals, parents, families, and couples to explore their desired goals. My therapeutic style heavily emphasizes the therapeutic relationship by creating a non-judgmental and safe atmosphere for my clients. I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral and Behavioral therapy techniques; additionally, I incorporate Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness, and Person-Centered therapy techniques into treatment.

Frequently asked questions

I offer a free phone consultation prior to starting to work with a client to ensure that we will be a good team working towards your individual, unique goals. Clients then arrive 15 minutes prior to their scheduled initial assessment appointment to complete intake forms. This helps me to review the primary reason(s) you are seeking therapy and how I can begin to help you through the process. I will then meet with you between 1 hour and 1 hour and 15 minutes. You will be asked questions to clarify your current situation and past history. Then we will discuss treatment options and begin to outline goals for future sessions.
