Orenda Counseling Center, LLC
About
I am a licensed professional counselor, trained in grief & loss, gerontology, CBT, and motivational interviewing.
I have been working with older adults for about 6 years, grief for about 4, and I have been a practicing counselor for almost 4 years.
Having the honor to walk with someone through their progress and successes has always been the most rewarding part of the job, especially if I’ve also seen the struggles and missteps. Seeing how far someone has come and how far they can go is precisely why I do this work.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I usually like to allow for about an hour and a half for an intake and an hour for each session following. I like to get a big picture of the presenting problem that has brought each individual into counseling.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have my Masters of Science in Counseling Psychology from Chatham University and my License as a professional counselor (LPC) in Pennsylvania.

The office standard is $120 each session.
I take Highmark (Blue Cross/Blue Shield), Cigna, Aetna, and UPMC insurance.
How did you get started in this business?
The owner of the practice hired me on to help do office work while I built my own clientele.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I do a lot of grief counseling, especially with older adults, however, I have had the opportunity to work with people of all ages and all types of presenting problems.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Look around for a counselor you feel will be a good fit. Once you are invested in therapy with one person, don’t hesitate to say when things are and aren’t working for you so that the counselor knows to change directions with you. This is a collaborative process that requires effort from each client for their own lives to change.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
What are your specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and timely goals you have for participating in therapy? What would you like to accomplish?
