Dr. Van Wagner attended the University of Pittsburgh and completed his undergraduate degree in Exercise Physiology with a concentration in Wellness. He went on to attain the Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification and work with a variety of clients as a personal trainer. Quickly realizing that his clients would be much better served with hands on therapy and and a higher level of rehabilitation and training, he enrolled at the University of Bridgeport College of Chiropractic in 2008. He began providing care for the residents of Robinson Township and the surrounding areas after he graduated as a Doctor of Chiropractic in 2013. He continues to stay up to date on the latest treatment strategies and maintains several post graduate certifications aimed at providing the best care in the region for his patients.
In 2019, Dr. Van Wagner completed the premier PSP certification at the University of Pittsburgh. For years, spine care pain and disability in the US has been in a crisis of rapidly rising costs and declining outcomes for patients. Recent research has found that the spine care that most patients receive is inefficient, ineffective and extremely expensive. Dr. Van Wagner knew there was an urgent need for innovative solutions for his patients. He enrolled in the year long post graduate certification to benefit his patients, decrease costs of care and provide cutting edge treatments to aid in recovery. The Primary Spine Practitioner is trained to be the first line of defense for spine related conditions and works with an arsenal of providers to provide conservative care, injection therapy, and surgical consult when necessary.
