Generally, I have an interview, either on the phone or in person) with new clients in order to see exactly what they need, and to develop a plan for gathering necessary information and timelines.

Afterwards, after all information has been assembled, we'll perform our services.  Where that results in a report, tax return, or other "work product", we'll provide a draft for approval, questions, remarks, etc.  It is important to me that my clients know, understand, and agree with everyting about what we are doing.  Only after getting the client's approval do we finalize the project.
