About
Exhale! Unfortunately seeking help can be a burden in itself. Do you have an inner dialogue on a loop? “I keep trying and I just can’t get it right”, “life isn’t supposed to feel like this”! Do you find your relationships taxing and unenjoyable? Here is a sample of my approach, https://www.dropbox.com/s/83pwv7303967b1c/Addiction%20article%20August%20beachwood%20buzz%20.pdf?dl=0
Do you feel anxious (symptoms of fear), depressed (energy and outlook symptoms), or that your relationships are broken, strained and unenjoyable? Learn to embrace and enjoy the process of healing and finding peace. Therapy is the art of telling your story until you get it right. I will help you learn to want to do the things, that you knew you should have been doing all along.
Find the inner, HUM of OK! My clients discover how to be compelled by the opportunity to grow. Whether you are facing a depression, anxiety, divorce, addiction or a painful family history you can enjoy the process. Many of my clients start as individuals, but share the gift of healing and power with their families who are encouraged to come in as well.
I have been where you are. Suffering is a right of passage. The idea of sharing your thoughts and feelings with a stranger may seem odd at first, but when the therapeutic relationship is working, fear and pain become manageable and can sometimes even fall away. Having problems can feel lonely and alienating, you deserve the opportunity to find an easier way.

I am very lucky! I am privileged to be invited to participate in the lives of the most multifaceted, individuals, couples and families. I make my living having the most stimulating conversations with people whom are often passionately expressing themselves in new ways about life changing feelings and experiences. I would choose to participate in my role regardless of compensation if I earned my living in an alternative position. The opportunity to play a supportive role in the healing and potentially empowering experience of someone in need is very fulfilling. It is not unique to me or my profession and therefore there is a shared joy that is celebrated with the client and community at large.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Contact me at 216-570-9175 and we will make sure there is a good fit, set up a time and you will receive professional forms by email.
I take anthem blue cross blue shield, Aetna and United healthcare insurance
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am an independent marriage family therapist in Ohio. I earned my masters degree in clinical psychology with an emphasis in marriage and family therapy from Pepperdine University in Southern California. I have worked in the field since 1982 at Bellefaire in Shaker Hts., Ohio. I was you or your kids trying to work life out and match my head to my heart and vice versa. I felt fortunate to have figured some of it out, and hoped to pass on the relief and the hope. I feel lucky to still be at it.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
My fee is $125 for up to 90 min appt (most are). I take ANTHEM, United healthcare, and Aetna insurance and will work with you on the fee if appropriate. I can also help you get paid directly by your insurance if they will reimburse for an out of network provider (most will, just call the number on the card and ask). Any other questions about fees and services can be handled directly by me @ 216-570-9175
How did you get started in this business?
I was a sensitive high school kid who was fortunate to be a reader and enjoyed philosophy, psychology and science. I worked hard to understand and resolve my own inner angst and suffering, and oddly succeeded to enough of a degree that I was inspired to know more and I continue to find life and people fascinating.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I work best with high functioning, intelligent adults and teenagers, who feel that there is value and potential relief in understanding their issues. I work off the idea that good therapy is the art of telling your story till you get it right. Meaning that along with understanding, there is great value in the process of finding the words that when spoken, free you from the pain and empower your next right thing.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I have been in private practice almost 20 years and social services for almost 40. I consistently get calls from patients I had at the beginning but haven't seen in more than a decade. They resolved some issues, went on with their lives, maybe even saw other professionals along the way and ultimately found their way back to me. Honestly, there is no greater honor for me than knowing that the people I had not seen in so long still value the work we did so long again and choose to return to continue their work. Brings a tear just thinking about it:-).
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
there are lots of great therapist and it's worth trying out a few until you find one that resonates. Also, therapy is not all tears and tissues, you should enjoy it, have some fun and laughter in the process. While the human condition can sometimes tear us down, when looked at from a different angle the same painful experience can be oddly amusing. The same kid who says I hate waking up and the world has nothing to offer, can often find humor in there own efforts to make things miserable. Ask them about waking up - if I paid you $1000/day to enjoy waking up and meeting the world would you find a way? "Of course" they say, so why not try now you'll be paid in your own happiness? They always laugh when they say "I don't want to, that's stupid"!
