John H. Thomas, Ed.D.

Dr. John H. Thomas is a licensed Psychologist in private practice in Cincinnati, OH. He received an A.B. in Psychology from the University of Detroit, a M.A. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Cincinnati and a Doctorate in Counselor Education from the University of Cincinnati. Dr. John H. Thomas is a member on the Board of Directors of the Zion Temple Christian Academy. He is also a past vice president of the Cincinnati chapter of the Association of Black Psychologists.

He is a member of the American Psychological Association, The Ohio Psychological Association, the Cincinnati Academy of Professional Psychology and Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity. Dr. Thomas also has ties to the local community as a member of the Greater Cincinnati Northern Kentucky African American Chamber. He was a past honoree for the Applause Magazine Image Makers Award. He currently has a website, www.drjohnhthomaspsychologist.com where he invites members of the Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky communities to come to counseling to resolve their issues.

Dr. Thomas is married to Attorney Leslie F. Thomas. Dr. Thomas and his wife have a radio program called Psychology and Law for Life which can be heard on WAIF 88.3 on Friday nights at 8:00pm. They have previously hosted Psychology and Law for Life on local radio station 1230 The BUZZ. He also provides seminars for local and national church organizations on premarital and marital bonding, as well as, remarriage bonding solutions.

Dr. John H. Thomas counsels a wide range of individuals in Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky. As a Christian Psychologist, he uses a wide range of biblical concepts and psychological theories to help clients achieve their therapeutic goals. He believes the most effective results from psychotherapy can be achieved if psychotherapist and clients include biblical principles to understand and resolve counseling issues. He is thoroughly convinced of the effectiveness of using biblical principles in his psycho-therapeutic work. Since he counsels such a diverse group of clients, he uses multiple linguistic strategies to convey concepts to clients.
