I am a doctor of acupuncture and oriental medicine. It takes few more additional years to get after finishing the acupuncture school.
In my practice I use not just needles but also herbs and suppliments. In addition my patients get benefits from cupping and moxibustion. Also, trained in functional medicine I like to combine both, oriental and western approaches helping people to choose the right vitamins and supplements...

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The first appointment takes an hour and a half. It is a very detailed talk about patient condition, food choices, life style. Than I do a treatment.
Needles may stay from 15 to 40 min depending on a health condition.
On a first visit or the next I may give herbs and supplements.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a doctorate from ACTCM.
Also I am getting trained in functional medicine. It helps me to guide patients in the use of vitamins and supplements.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
My pricing system is reasonable. I may give some discount when I treat children, seniors, veterans and people who are in unfortunate life time period.
How did you get started in this business?
Many years ago I saw an elder in my dream advising me to work as an acupuncturist. May be because of it learning acupuncture and herbs were not too difficult for me.
Just on a site note, accupuncture schools have one of the highest drop out rate in the country. So next time when you see an acupuncturist think about it.
What types of customers have you worked with?
People come with different conditions: pain, GI, heart, etc. issues. Gynecology and fertility problems...Lyme disease.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
My advise is for the patient to have realistic expectations. Sometimes people come for acupuncture, they expect to be heeled within one or two sessions. It may happen if condition is new and a patient is strong enough. Mostly it takes many more visits.
In China people come every day for acupuncture. It takes few three week sessions to get a desired effect.
