Nurse Caroline
About
Professionalism, respect, genuine care and concern set me apart from therapists that are in the field just for the money. My goal is to assist individuals towards becoming the healthy beings that are consistantly able to navigate life and all of the inconsistancies that come along with living life. There is a difference between existing and living, everyone has the right to live life to the fullest, reguardless of circumstances that are beyond their control. Helping you in turn helps me because there is always room for more positive energy in the world - kind of like there is always room for Jello.
Clinical nursing for over thirty years has awarded me the ability to cover many roles; nurse, teacher, social worker, mediator, patient advocate, and therapist, to list a few. However it is the role of therapist that gives me true enjoyment and appreciation because when I am practicing in that role I am able to support and encourage another individual in dealing with life changing events. Listening and giving guidance is very rewarding, especially when the client becomes the wholistic person that they were intended to be. I enjoy when someone is able to see the positive steps that have been taken towards self awareness. I like when problems have been solved and growth has been made. Sometimes life is hard to navigate on your own and knowing that I am able to aide, even if it's just holding up a reflecting mirror, I know that I make an actual favorable difference in the life of another person. The proof is in the pudding - members of Kool Kids, ( Kids with an Optimistic Outlook on Life), have become productive adults with jobs and families of their own. I was the support group leader as the Genetics Psychosocial Services Project Coordinator to teenagers with chronic conditions at a time when many of them had given up on life because of the burdens of being teenagers plus asthma, Sickle Cell Disease, diabetes, blindness, and other life altering conditions.
