About
I'm an independent tech artist focused on education, performance spaces, building, & community engagement.
.
I work with a myriad of electronics, programming languages, & softwares for everything from 3D modeling/environments/printing, audio/visual, live visuals/projection/lighting design, digital imaging, arduino/microcontrollers/sensors, computer vision, ar/vr, etc.
.
I am looking for more tutoring clients & theatre/live performance work as I transition my work toward my own practice & focusing my attention on the theatre I'm with (WOW Cafe Theatre) & the community I help run/founded, ndntfd.
.
I'm trans nonbinary, & I live with mental/physical disability. In my work, I prioritize the voices/lives/betterment of queer folx, poc, disabled folx, socioeconomically disenfranchised (broke/poor) folx, & other marginalized or displaced people.
.
In addition to tutoring & my various artistic practices, I am certified to develop one on one individualized mental wellness plans via the Wellness Recovery Action Plan certification.
.
You can find my work on most social media by searching TinyLionRoars, including instagram, soundcloud, vimeo, & more. My art portfolio is semi-regularly updated at tinylionroars.tumblr.com/tagged/myart

Due to the nature of my work/ethos, I am extremely willing to work out scheduling/payment plans for those in need--& my services are always free for homeless trans people.
I couldn't imagine doing anything else.
I work with amazing people who just want things to be better & are willing to try & risk & grow & look silly to do that.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to have a back & forth of about 2-10 emails over the course of 1-2 weeks to determine what would work best for the clients needs, budget, & time.
.
Repeat clients, recommended clients, & marginalized/displaced people are given deference.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Integrated Digital Media, B.S. NYU Tandon School of Engineering with a minor in Mediterranear Studies
Advanced mathematics (through multivariable calculus, principles regulary applied in the after school classes I lead & through various 3D/spatialized work I do)
Certified facilitator with Wellness Recovery Action Plan
Several years engaged doing tech & community organizing based work as an adult, with countless years in community outreach spaces since youth.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Pricing works on several sliding scales depending on a few factors. Within the sliding scale, clients are welcome to pay whatever is most feasible for them, as well as discuss any concerns.
.
Sliding scale factors are as follows:
.
Service (tutoring, project, consultation)
Duration (several weeks independent work, weekly hourly session, semi-regular)
Need (deference given to trans/gnc folx, as well as poc & persons living with disabilities)
.
I usually do not work for less than $40/hr for people who are not from underserved communities or worthwhile causes, often higher. Due to the nature of my work howerver, most of my clients are from these communities, so feel free to reach out with any questions.
How did you get started in this business?
All of my knowledge has been passed down by way of finding something I want to know then figuring out how to know it. This has put me in a lot of dangerous & tenuous situations in hopes of progressing toward these paths. I would like to help people avoid risking their dreams or their wellbeing.
.
Tech & building spheres especially can feel extremely inaccessible, & I want to shatter more than just some glass ceiling & masculine egos.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I focus more on helping people who have some lived experience with trauma, children, queer people, people of color, women (mostly trans/gnc), people living with mental or physical impairment, etc.
.
I work primarily with artists, creatives, community organizers, & people who are interested in working with the former.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I have a monthly show opening this Friday at WOW Cafe Theatre that is bringing together a lot of my loves: live performance/improv, live audio/visuals, & building community.
The show, Late Night with Ev & the Lights, originally ran at The Brick's Trans Theatre Festival, will now have a monthly spot (regularly the 3rd Friday of the month but this month it will be on the 12th) at WOW Cafe Theatre, a space that has very much been a home to me in the past & that centers the voices of trans/gnc folx, women, & any non cis-men as producers of experimental theatre in the NYC area.
