What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Schedule a conference call to discuss the client's needs and requests. Review the matter on-hand if it is a representation case or prior year returns if it is a new tax preparation client. I work remotely only and provide a secure client portal where all documents are shared between the client and myself.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have an accounting degree and have been fully authorized to practice before the Internal Revenue Service and all state tax agencies as an Enrolled Agent in matters of tax preparation or representation before all tax authorities.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
There is a base fee for preparation of tax returns; price increases depending on the complexity of the tax return. Bookkeeping, payroll, sales tax, and other consultary services have an hourly rate. I price-bundle for multiple services at a monthly rate.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I work with small to mid-sized businesses, sole proprietors, corporations, partnerships, S-corps. I work with individual clients with complex tax issues to the simplest of returns.
I have represented clients (businesses and individuals) in many tax matters before the Internal Revenue Service, various state tax authourities, and the federal or state Dept of Labor in matters of Unemployment or payroll issues.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Recently, I was successful in getting an Offer in Compromise settled for an individual tax client saving them thousands of dollars in tax debt. More importantly, I have been able to get this client to be compliant in his tax filings and payments for a few years throughout the process and after so that the client wouldn't find themself in this situation any more.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
If you are looking for a tax professional, please make sure that they are fully licensed to practice and represent you. Not all tax preparers are qualified to prepare your returns and more importantly, represent you before the tax authorities. Look for credentials such as an Enrolled Agent or CPA.
