    At TheOfficeSquad it’s not about one person. That’s the entire premise of the business model. When a small business owner needs something done and they hear “So and so is on vacation and we can’t help you. You’ll have to wait for her return”. Seriously? Their business has to stop because someone went on vacation or is out sick? 

    The staff at TheOfficeSquad is cross trained on client tasks and we create what we call S.P.I.N.S. (Special Instructions) for each client. You’ll have a main point of contact that is the lead on your account but if that person is out, we can still take care of you and keep your business running.

    Our founder has been working with QuickBooks and small business for over 30 years.  The staff at TheOfficeSquad is carefully selected for their talent and fit into the culture of support to small business.  Together there is well over 100 years of experience in all aspects of bookkeeping, accounting, and small business support. 

    TheOfficeSquad is membership based.  Clients that would like to work with us will complete a Squad Questionnaire that gives us the details needed to prepare a custom membership.  The squad doesn't bill by the hour.  Our services are based on tasks. 

    One monthly fee with no surprises.  The bill doesn't change unless the tasks does.  

    It started as a “side hustle”. Right after high school I joined the Air Force and spent 6 years as an active duty F-15 squadron operations specialist. This meant I worked on the day to day operations for 32 F-15 pilots. I handled answering the phone and radio calls, scheduling airspace, and tracking pilot training. Not to mention making the coffee and all the little things that keep any operation running smoothly. I did this all while practicing to go to war.

    This is where I met and married my husband. Shortly after we were married I left the service and became a full time military spouse.

    As a military spouse, it’s difficult to keep a job because you move….a lot. So, I started a few work from home businesses and did a lot of volunteer work, all while raising two daughters. It was then that I started using QuickBooks and learning bookkeeping.

    I’m not one to sit idle and I was always looking for a way to make things better where ever we lived. It started with learning bookkeeping and QuickBooks for my own business ventures and volunteer work, but it grew to helping others with theirs.

    It didn’t get serious though until my husband got stationed at Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas, Nevada in 2001. My daughters were both in school and I had more time to devote to growing a business. I wanted something that I could take with me since my husband was still an active duty fighter pilot and we’d probably move again. Virtual assistance was the perfect choice and Dida’s Virtual Assistance and Bookkeeping was born. A work from home, part time gig to help business owners with their bookkeeping needs.

    I quickly discovered that small business owners needed much more than just bookkeeping help. They needed an entire support system. Someone to answer the business phone, to take care of administrative tasks, follow up, and much more. That person had to be someone they could trust and depend on. This was the exact thing that I had done for squadron operations while in the Air Force.

    It’s not one person they needed, it was an entire squad of support. So I built one.

    What happens if you haven’t yet worked with a company like mine?

    Having worked with hundreds of business owners in a very wide variety of businesses, most likely we have. Yet, I have to share with you that if we haven’t, you are not at all at a disadvantage, quite the opposite. 

    Here’s why: people in your field probably need to do ALL the same things for bookkeeping and operations. Bookkeeping and accounting is ruled by GAP (General Accounting Principles) so the basic principle is the same for any business. The systems and procedures that help a business grow can be tweaked to meet the needs of the owner. What our current and former clients have found exceedingly helpful is that we bring a fresh perspective to their processes and give them organization and time saving tools they’ve not used before. Because of this, they have the time, tools, and numbers they need to concentrate on other things in their business. 

    We are grateful and the squad "sparkles" all the time.  It's a challenge to pick just one.  

    Although bookkeeping and accounting is ruled by the principles of GAP, bookkeepers are not. As a matter of fact, there are no written rules, certifications, or licenses required to become a bookkeeper or a virtual assistant. The same is true of QuickBooks. While there is a certification process for the software, you don’t have to be a “certified QuickBooks Pro Advisor” to start a business as a bookkeeper. I know because I did it. When I started my bookkeeping business from home I had no certification or accountability. What I did have was common sense, integrity, and honesty. Many others do not. 

    TheOfficeSquad works well with business owners who are excited and deadly serious about taking their business to the next level and ending the stress related to not having good systems and people in place. 
    TheOfficeSquad was created for you to begin feeling comfortable with delegating a little bit at a time off your plate. We put systems in place within the first 90 days, which will eventually lead you to step away from doing the work or having to manage those that are supposed to be doing it for you.
