Bodywork By Lauren Drake

I am unique in that I do not lean on one specialty, but am an amalgamation of various forms I have trained in and experienced deep healing through myself. I trained at the Swedish Institute in New York City, in a two-year full-time program where I accumulated over 1,000 hours, exceeding the New Mexico minimum of 650. The curriculum had a strong emphasis on both Western and Eastern forms. My work tends mostly towards myofascial release and trigger point techniques, but is heavily influenced by Shiatsu and the approach of Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy. I am a certified Reiki practitioner in the traditional Usui Method. I have a decade of experience in the field of bodywork.

So many things! I love helping people be in their bodies. We live in a world that very often has us looking outside of ourselves for answers, for pleasure, for bliss. But bliss is inherently available to us through our bodies, and it is such a privilege to be able to usher people into bliss states in a safe and contained way. When we can reach states of bliss, and ultimately feelings of safety, we are given an opportunity to hear deep truths that are housed within our bodies that might not be available to us through our cognitive mind alone. So bodywork is a way in, per se, to understand oneself better, and it is a gift to be able to offer that.
