What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I have a private practice in the Flatiron District of NYC and see patients by appointment only.   Clients should arrive 15 min prior to their appointment time to discuss any muscular issues they would like to address.  A treatment plan is designed based on their specific needs. I provide Post-treatment home care recommendations to help enhance your treatment.

As a health and wellness business, Soulful Wellness will continue to require all clients and staff members to wear masks at all times.  In order to be treated, you MUST wear a mask during your entire session.  Thank you for continuing to follow our COVID-19 protocol.  Your safety is our #1 priority.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I received my massage therapy training from The Swedish Institute College of Allied Health Sciences in 2002.  Certified in Prenatal Massage, Registered Yoga Instructor at the 200-hour level. Highly experienced in Sports, Deep Tissue, Myofascial Release, Swedish Massage, Pre/Post natal massage, Doula Services, and Prenatal Yoga

How did you get started in this business?

I began working in healthcare right out of college as an administrative assistant at NYU Medical Center, eventually transitioning to a clinical technician position.  Working in this environment sparked an interest in prevention and alternative health methods which lead me to massage therapy.  I have since worn various hats in the industry, gaining licensure in massage therapy, certification in colon hydrotherapy, yoga instruction and more recently doula services. I've learned through my own experience, the importance of a whole-body approach to wellness, through movement, nutrition, and detoxification are to feeling good spiritually, emotionally and physically and I wanted to share my experiences with others.

What types of customers have you worked with?

I've worked with a wide range of clients from elderly patients, prenatal clients and athletes, and those who sit behind a computer, to healthcare and wellness professionals.

Being published as a co-contributor in a book where I speak about my experience as a doula

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?

Be specific about what your needs are.  Don't be afraid to ask questions regarding your needs and areas of concern. Although we cannot diagnose, a passionate, knowledgeable therapist will ask questions and may even do a couple of quick tests to assess and pinpoint where the problem is stemming from.

What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?

What are your everyday habits?  ie: sitting, standing, walking, phone, etc.

Medical history - ie, accidents, falls, breaks, sprains, recent dental work

How much water do you drink?

How often do you work out?
