Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
As a CFP(R) and IRS Enrolled Agent, I review people in their entirety. I want to make sure we are making the best decisions not just taking the most deductions. We don't want to show low income and then you can't get the loan they need. Want to make sure all parts of your life work in concert.
We also review previous tax returns to see if there were any missed opportunities we can still capitalize on.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have over 30 years of experience. I used to be COO for Financial PLanning US at UBS and spent about 10 years at Goldman Sachs.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
I work on an upfront flat fee system. I don't believe on surprising people with markups.
How did you get started in this business?
My uncle is a third-generation Accountant. We all interned in his office.I spent may year being a strategist in the Wealth Planning field. After 20 years of commuting and working the corporate work, it was time to hang up my own shield.
Lets me work closer to home and spend more time with my family and young kids.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I like to work with anyone I can add value to. Helping people feel they be comfortable they are getting the most comprehensive return for their needs. The more complicated the situation, the more fun. I love to problem solve and come up with the solutions others missed.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I love to teach and lecture. I can be found spending my weekends at military installations helping to teach financial literacy to Service Members.
I also run a lot of free webinars to help people with all the changes and strategies they should be considered when managing life changes, law changes and business start-ups.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
My biggest piece of advice is to know who you are hiring. At the end of the day, it is your name on the tax return. That will impact how you can plan your whole life and drive your future. Make sure the person you are hiring is up for the task and not just in it for a quick paycheck and not truly capable of helping you do more with the money you have.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
What are the professional qualifications? Have they gotten a professional designation such as CPA, EA or JD to show they are committed to learning and not just getting paid?
What is the scope of their practice and types of clients that make up most of their business?
What does the fee include? Can they call for advice during the year or is that an upcharge? You want tax time to be a review not starting point when it is probably to late to make the types of changes you need to make.
