I dont usually write reviews, but I feel compelled to do so. My mother, who is suffering from Alzheimers, has left me unsure on how to proceed regarding many financial issues. In my initial consultation, Mr. Merola listened attentively to the complexity of my mothers case, asked intelligent questions and gave me the answers that three different lawyers were unable to give me, previously. I HAVE WORKED FOR WESTLAW FOR THE LAST 7 YEARS...SO NEEDLESS TO SAY I HAVE THOUSANDS OF CONTACTS TO MANY ATTORNEYS THROUGHOUT THE EAST COAST, ESPECIALLY MASSACHUSETTS AND SOUTH FLORIDA. SOME CONCENTRATED ON VOLUME WHILE OTHERS WANTED QUALITY CASES. I MET ATTORNEYS WHO HAVE BEEN ON FOX, CNN, ESPN ETC. FROM PERSONAL INJURY TO CRIMINAL TO ELDER LAW TO SPACE LAW...OH YES..SPACE LAW...GOOGLE IT. POINT IS IVE MET THEM ALL.
UNFORTUNATELY OVER THE YEARS I HAVE NEEDED THE SERVICES OF ATTORNEYS FROM TIME TO TIME...MOST RECENTLY FOR TAX/IRS RELATED ISSUES. JERRY MEROLA DOESNT HAVE THE FANCY OFFICE..JERRY MEROLA ISNT FULL OF JERRY MEROLAS EGO...AS SO MANY ATTORNEYS ARE. I MET AND WORKED WITH ATTORNEYS WHO WOULD BRAG ABOUT HOW MUCH THEIR DESK COST THEM TO ATTORNEYS WHO WOULD GLOAT ABOUT THEIR BLACK BMW AND THE ATTORNEYS WHO WOULD HIT YOU UP FOR AN ENORMOUS RETAINER BECAUSE THEY WERE THE SELF PROCLAIMED EXPERT IF THEIR FIELD OF LAW ONLY TO FIND OUT LATER THEIR RECORD WAS AVERAGE AT BEST. DONT ALLOW YOUR PERSONAL LEGAL ISSUE TO BE HANDLED BY THE ATTORNEY WHO RIGHT AFTER YOU SIGN ON AND PAY SUDDENLY DOESNT REMEMBER YOUR NAME OR WHO SUDDENLY HAS A PROBLEM RETURNING YOUR PHONE CALL.
BE SMART..TRUST ME HERE..HIRE JERRY MEROLA. I DONT KNOW THE GUY PERSONALLY IVE NEVER BEEN OUT OF HIS OFFICE WITH HIM, NOT EVEN FOR LUNCH, BUT I CAN TELL YOU THIS, THE MAN IS ALL BUSINESS. IVE BEEN TO HIS NYC OFFICE AND AS I SAID ABOVE, A FANCY OFFICE IS NOT WHAT YOU WILL SEE. WHAT YOU WILL SEE WITH JERRY MEROLA AND HIS STAFF, IS A MAN AND PEOPLE WHO REALLY CARE. HES A MAN WHO TAKES A LOT OF NOTES, WHO IS VERY DETAILED ORIENTED.
THE FIRST TIME I MET HIM, I TOOK MY CHECKBOOK OUT AS I WAS READY TO WRITE HIM A CHECK RIGHT THERE ON THE SPOT...BUT JERRY DIDNT WANT ONE. HE ACTUALLY SAID TO ME, NICK BEFORE YOU WRITE ME A CHECK ALLOW ME TO SPEAK TO MY PARTNER. I WANT TO MAKE SURE WE CAN HELP YOU. IMAGINE AN ATTORNEY TELLING YOU TO PUT YOUR CHECKBOOK BACK...LOL. THREE DAYS LATER JERRY CALLED ME. HE TOLD ME OK GO AHEAD WRITE THE CHECK. THE RESULTS HE GOT ME WERE AMAZING...I STILL THINK TO MYSELF EITHER HE KNEW THE JUDGE, OR HES GOT BEST FRIENDS OR FAMILY WORKING AT THE IRS....THANK GOD FOR JERRY MEROLA. DO YOURSELF A HUGE FAVOR AS YOU OWE IT TO YOURSELF TO HIRE THE RIGHT ATTORNEY AND AS IM CERTAIN YOU CANT AFFORD NOT TO..HIRE THIS MAN AND ALLOW HIM TO DO WHATEVER IT IS HE DOES TO MAKE YOU A HAPPY PERSON. THE GUY IS INCREDIBLE.

VERY SATISFIED. I recently went to Hayley Greenberg for a big divorce Im involved in. She just concluded the case for me and I am very satisfied. There was alot of fighting because my ex wanted to take everything from me even though he never contributed. Attorney Greenberg explained everything to me and was extremely knowledgable about the whole process. I would highly recommend her to anyone.

I dealt directly with Hayley Greenberg through their Baldwin office location regarding an immigration matter. Hayley is communicative, honest, and knows immigration like the back of her hand. Most importantly, I was always able to get a call back from her within a day or two when I had questions, and she followed up on my documentation even after it was submitted. She also made sure that I received all communication from USCIS, and even gave me a call to check that I was aware of an upcoming appointment with USCIS. I will certainly use her services in the future should the need arise, and my advice to her other clients is to follow her instructions to the letter and trust her with getting things handled.

Now that I have a family, I needed to make my last wishes known in case I get hit by a bus or run over in the city. I used these guys through my works Hyatt Legal Group plan to draft my last will and testament.
No complaints. Friendly lawyer, and they got it done. Most of the work was done via e-mail and snail mail, and then a final signing at their office by Grand Central.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The client calls us and we discuss their case with them. To save money, this can usually be done over the phone. Sometimes we need to meet with the client and sometimes we need to see certain documentation. It's decided on a case by case basis.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Many of our lawyers TEACH other lawyers about the law by holding CLE's that other lawyers attend. You are welcome to come to our CLE's also and enjoy some good appetizers!

Unfortunately, every case is individual-just like when you see a doctor, so we need to speak with you before we can quote you a price.
How did you get started in this business?
I've had multiple businesses since I was young and come from a business background. My family owned several businesses on Canal St. in Manhattan. I've had a booking agency in the entertainment field and presently am CEO of Precious Realty.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Our firm has dealt with indivuals, corporations, small businesses, and everything in between.

We recently helped incorporate and "set up" a non profit animal rights group who are now up and running saving animals. :)
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Speak with several before you decide. Anyone NOT up front with price-skip. DO NOT LIE or OMIT anything important. Do NOT keep talking on and on-be concise. Time is money.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Be very specific about what you want and your attorney should be very up front about all fees and costs and projected outcome.
