Building Mindful Connections
About
I’ve been called the “anti therapist” by the majority of my clients. I never consider myself an expert at anyone or anything- I’m constantly learning. I’ve worked in an inner city high school setting for over five years where I ran a family mental health program, I’ve done in-home work with foster families, and worked with couples for over a decade- and, now I have my own practice where I love having the freedom to be me. Depending on who is in my office, sometimes I don’t even discuss the problem at hand until we have developed a rapport. I spend most of my energy connecting and relating to my clients to build a strong foundation from which our work can grow. I’ve been a therapist for over 15 years and have truly learned more with each session that I complete, and I am passionate about all that I do.
My passion is working with teens and young adults who are depressed or anxious and self harm. I also have a deep love and need to fight for the prevention and awareness of suicide. I believe the way we can save lives is by fighting against the stigma that holds people back from getting the help that they need and deserve. I throw my heart and soul into the work that I do- and I work so hard to create a safe atmosphere for my clients to be themselves, for, without that feeling of safety- no work can be done. I have a YouTube channel, a fb page and a website. Check me out and see if we are a good fit.
