What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I give an in person or on the phone consultation to find out exactly what the client is looking for.  This consultation is free of charge.  I will let the client know what services I can provide and also a price estimate.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I am a CPA and have been in business for 25 years.  I am up to date on all current tax laws as well as Quickbook certified.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.

Pricing is customized based on client needs.  Bookkeeping is normally a flat fee either weekly, quarterly or monthly.  Tax preparation is also flat fee based on forms and complexity.  I will normally give clients a range .

How did you get started in this business?

I began in 1993 from my studio apartment in Moorestown NJ.  I have always worked in public accounting as I enjoy the variety or people and companies.  I love watching companies grow and thrive.  I also love tax season and helping people maximize their hard earned money by minimizing their tax liabilities!

What types of customers have you worked with?

I have worked with individuals from the person just starting out to high net worth.  Individuals with small businesses, rental properties and partnership interests.

A variety of businesses include:  manufacturing, doctors, dentists, lawyers, insrance, financial planners, real estate, landscapers, entertainment, retail stores, beauty salons, export companies, electricians, heating/cooling contractors and day care centers.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?

I would definitely meet the pro in person and see if you feel comfortable.  Is the person friendly? Answer your questions? Is their office neat and organized? Is your first impression favorable?  Did they call you back timely? Do they have support staff?

What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?

What are they looking for in terms of service?

What did they not like from their last professional?
