What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First we met and talk to make sure we can work together. Next, exchange paperwork. We can do the return together or I can get it ready for review and contact you to discuss the return, if all is good I send in your return.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been doing taxes for 8 years with big franchises. I have a loyal customer base that I have been doing their returns for 15 years. I completed the continuing education each. This year I want to expand my tax family to include you.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
I want to be fair. I work with another company that can offer payment to come out of refund. If you don't require this option my fees (like other tax services) charge by the complexity of the return.
$125 Single just W-2
$125 - $300 covers just about everyone else.
$300 and up self-employed; rental property
How did you get started in this business?
I took a class and learned that I enjoyed doing it. Each year I always run into something new and get to talk to interesting people.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I mainly work on personal returns but do have experience with businesses. I also do bookkeeping.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Last year I help a client prepare their taxes when no one would do the return due to her situation. I worked with her. Got all the paperwork she needed to get it done correctly. She was just so happy, it made my week.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Make sure that they have a valid IRS PTIN.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
I want my clients to trust and feel comfortable talking with me. It is a lot of personal information that you have to share.
