Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I can travel to client, meet with them via Zoom, or conduct it all via email and Dropbox, or fax.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am an Enrolled Agent.
I Worked for a tax preparation company for 17 years, in addition to teaching income tax preparation and income tax law to both new and seasoned preparers.
Prior to tax preparation, I worked in the field of Accounting. My last full time position before I had children was as the Assistant Comptroller for a multi-state temporary employment agency, overseeing the General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Administration costs.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Tax situations can vary widely. No set price because of that. Most customers are pleased with my pricing, and I am willing to make payment arrangements if necessary.
How did you get started in this business?
When my children were little, I wanted something I could do evenings and weekends once my husband was home.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with clients from Germany, Japan, Puerto Rico, and the majority of the USA.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I was reviewing a prior year tax return prepared by a local competitor. The client paid $300 for the return. After my review, I found the client over $600 between federal and state. She was happy to pay my fee for the amendments and I was able to e-file them for her.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Make sure it's someone who understands your needs. Not every CPA does tax returns as a regular part of their business. As an Enrolled Agent, my focus is on your taxes, and doing the best I can for you.
