What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Taking the time listening and getting to know the customer and answering any questions. We listen.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelor & Master in Accounting. I have my PTIN. I have volunteer since my undergrad with the VITA program. I have over 20 years of experience completing taxes.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
The National average fee to prepare and submit a Form 1040 and state return with no itemized deductions is used. The average fee for an itemized Form 1040 with Schedule A and a state tax return is a different fee.
How did you get started in this business?
I got started in college working a volunteer with the VITA program. After two years, I started completing taxes for family members and friends to support myself through college.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with a variety of customers; students, individuals, couples, non-profits and small businesses.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I enjoy speaking to college students in the TRIO Programs like Upward Bound and Talent Search. I teach the students about budgeting, understanding how the financial aid works, securing scholarships for college. I speak to the students during the summer session participating in these programs.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Make sure to check the preparer's qualifications, ask about servcie fees, the preparer is available at all times after filing, never sign a blank return, review your return before signing, and ensure the preparer signs and includes their PTIN.
