At Toad Song Farm, we offer massage therapy services by Mary Bevier,LMBT 6628. Mary is certified in oncology, prenatal, reflexology,and aromatherapy massage, as well as relaxation massage. Massages are tailored to meet each client's unique needs using a variety of techniques. A longtime herbalist and aromatherapist, Mary grows Herb plants for home gardeners each spring, and teaches a variety of workshops on the farm and across North Carolina. Each year Mary hosts special retreats for women, gay men, massage therapy professionals, and other groups. Mary also hosts a special community event each December - Stone Soup. It makes my heart glad to know that my touch heals. Making people feel better is job one. Putting my hands in the dirt and growing herb plants for my customers is extremely therapeutic to me. It helps me to stay grounded. Then, there are the retreats and workshops. Those are the real healing experiences. You have to come out and join one to understand.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I usually talk to my new client about their health history and massage needs. Then, I customize a massage plan based on their unique situation.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a graduate of the Massage Therapy program at Johnston Community College. I also have taken courses and have certifications in oncology massage, energy work, prenatal massage, aromatherapy massage, chakra balancing, reflexology, accupressure, and manual lymphatic drainage. I have also been a practicing herbalist and aromatherapist for over 30 years.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
I generally charge $65 for the first hour, then $1 per minute afterward for clients coming to my home. I do offer a first time client discount of $15 off (or $50 for the first one-hour massage). And my clients get a full hour of massage when they are on my table. Repeat clients can pay for packages and get discounts. Off site chair massage and table massage in the home prices vary according to the length of time I'll be performing massage and the distance I'll be traveling.
How did you get started in this business?
My aunt and godmother was the one who encouraged me to turn a lifelong interest in alternative health into becoming a massage therapist. She shared with me the importance of touch and suggested that I go back to school and study massage if I ever got the chance. And I did.

I've worked with young, old, cancer survivors, expecting mothers, people with disabilities. and healthy people of all shapes and sizes.
