Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I am happy to give people a 30 minute complementary introductory session so we can learn more about each other to determine if we are a good fit to work together.
Depending on the goals of the client, I can provide counseling and coaching that combines traditional job search with exploring entrepreneurial options. I specialize in helping people figure out how to create simple businesses that help them create income while answering the call of their "heart song".
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Much of what I do comes from my own personal experiences in unemployment and my training as a technical recruiter. I understand what it's like to be on both sides of the interview desk.
I've worked with people with PhD's, as well as people in homeless shelters. I am able to work with people from all walks of life and all education levels.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
I have a flat fee of $50/hour, but can design a package price for someone if they want something specific.
How did you get started in this business?
By reflecting on the challenges of my own unemployment, and out of it creating a class called "Find Your Song & Sing It: Finding or Creating Work You Love".
I first started teaching it in my church, and later was hired to bring the class to a local community college.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Men, women, young, young-at-heart, financially stable and people experiencing homelessness.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I am currently creating a wellness expo to benefit a non-profit that assistst survivors of domestic violence. I love putting together events like this and creating win-win situations for everyone.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Make sure to look for someone who is willing to help you explore the full range of possibilities in your career search. Many more people are being called to create an income stream of their own making.
Sometimes looking at "both" employment "and" entrepreneurship is a better strategy than just "either" "or".
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Do you have a purpose, passion or mission that has been stuffed under the table or in a closet?
Is it time to consider it?
