How did you get started in this business?
My Wall St. experience introduced me to the asset management part of the business. From there, I developed an interest in taxation and the other disciplines of financial planning.
It wasn't long afterward when I gained a passion for helping families with their finances and obtaining financial independence.

Physicians, business owners, and executives.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Ask lots of questions! Hiring someone to oversee your financial affairs could be one of the most important decisions you make. Make sure they have their CFP designation, ask them to explain their planning process and provide examples of how they will proactively help you plan your affairs.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Do research to gain a better understanding of what a fiduciary advisor really is. Many people call themselves "advisors" but focus on selling commission-based products and offer little in the way of proactive financial planning.
A good financial advisor should be well-versed in topics such as Social Security optimization, taxation and late-stage college planning such as optimizing financial aid.
