I contact them and answer their questions and also review what i need from them.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have completed the IRS volutnary program of AFSP and am a PTIN licensed tax preparer
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
No standard because each return has their own amount of work involved, however most basic returns start around $199
How did you get started in this business?
I started in doing this business because i had been preparing tax returns for friends and relatives since 1992.
What types of customers have you worked with?
My speciality is new self-employed clients along with those who have had issues in the past
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Many times people often mistake software for tax industry knowledge. They want me to "show them" how "to do" taxes. I explain that the months and hours I've spent over the years learning and perfecting is not something i can just show without the commitment to being a tax preparer.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Why are they changing tax preparers? Do. you owe any back taxes? when was the last time you filed?
