Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I first like to talk with a potential customer to allow myself to better understand their needs and ask necessary questions to determine if I can provide a service or will need additional information before I can commit to the job. I also would like to know how previous returns were filed.
We may talk over the telephone or via Zoom/Facetime.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I started working in the individual tax preparation industry in 1990 and has worked and trained with H & R Block as a Tax Preparer for many years.
I continue to stay updated on new and revised tax laws to ensure I provide the best options and service for each client.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Yes, I typically charge a standard amount of $225-$275 depending on the number of schedules and complexity of the return in addition to Schedule C for business expenses. This is determined on an individual bases upon discussing the type of return required.
How did you get started in this business?
I started working part-time as a Tax Data Entry Specialist with H & R Block during the tax season right after graduating from high school. That was prior to the creation of e-filing and the mailed paper returns were input in the data system by hand.
Once the technology improved I trained to become a Tax Preparer with H & R Block and continue to complete training with the organization as well as research on the IRS.gov website annually to ensure I am aware of the new and revised tax laws.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with individual customers on every level.
At this time, I do not work self-employed and business tax clients due to time restraints.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
I would advise a client that is looking to hire a tax pro to have a conversation with the individual to ensure they are capable to handle your situation and fully understand any special needs that may need to be addressed.
