Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
If you wish to begin psychotherapy with me, we will meet for an initial session to determine if we will be a good fit. You will let me know what's bringing you to therapy, and it provides you the space to ask me questions. At the end of the session, we will decide if continuing is a good idea.
I let all new clients know that we should have 3-5 sessions together before deciding if we want to continue long-term.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Prior to completing my Master's degree, I worked in inpatient and outpatient mental health settings. I led groups, researched, and presented on eating disorders, self-esteem, body image, and recovery.
I am a Nationally Certified Counselor which means that I have undergone clinical and education training from an accredited Master's program. I have also completed a two-year Advanced Psychodynamic Psychotherapy certifications at the Saint Louis Psychoanalytic Institute.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.

What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
1. Why do you not take insurance?
- There are a few reasons that I do not take insurance. Most importantly, I hold true to the idea that confidentiality is one of the most important aspects of the therapy process. Insurance companies will want information about what we discuss in sessions and they can cut your coverage at any time.
2. How can I pay for my sessions?
- You are able to pay for sessions with a debit card, credit, HSA, or cash.
3. Am I allowed to cancel my session?
- Yes, you are always able to cancel your sessions. It's important to know that you will be charged because this is your hour each week.
