Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We like to meet for an initial, free consultation with a new prospect, to mutually learn more about each other.
Find out what they would like to get accomplished, whether it be for a single financial event or for continued financial services.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Craig has several financial designations pertaining to investments, taxation, estate, and insurance and has served as president of the Society of Financial Services Professionals and has served as a Director of the National Association of Financial Services Association and is a member of the Estate Planning Council.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Fee-based planning with a fee range of 1% down to 0.50 of the assets managed.
If we are consulting for a single event, then a one time fee would apply.
How did you get started in this business?
I started as a Property & Casualty Insurance Agent following three of my brothers into the business. From there my interest shifted to the Financial Services Industry and I became licensed as an Investment/Financial Advisor and eventually went Independent.
What types of customers have you worked with?
The types of clients we work with are individuals, families and small business owners.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Recently was introduced to a family from a current client who their mother has issues with dementia. Their current advisor did not work with the siblings and thus I was introduced to the family. We set up monthly meetings to review the investment holdings and to review their Mom's goals for her and her family. An Estate Planning Attorney and a CPA were brought into the planning process, to complete the total Financial Plan for this family.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
My advice is to sit down with an advisor, to see if you are comfortable with him/her and their team. Prepare a checklist beforehand, bring a close friend or family member and ask about their background in business.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Ask about their educational background?
Ask how long have they been in business?
What network of Professionals do they associate to recommend for additional services to complement other services needed?
