Lauri Shedd Therapy Services LLC
About
Are you ready for change?
Are you overwhelmed by negative feelings? Is your mind racing and you just can’t make it stop? Do you wonder if there’s a way to lessen the hurt? Would it be nice to fall asleep at night with a clear mind?
I can help.
I created Lauri Shedd Therapy Services LLC with you in mind. I’ve made a safe, healing space for honesty and hard work. Change isn’t easy but it’s easier when you have someone to listen non-judgmentally, notice your progress, and cheer you on. There is life on the other side of how you are feeling now.
So many people have said to me, "I just want to live my life without all this ______." The blank can be anxiety, sadness, work BS, anger, and on and on. Sometimes, people aren't quiet sure what it is that is making them feel the way they do.
I love gettting to know my clients and helping them figure out the source of the problem, or if they already know, figure out how to deal with it in a healthier way. Not only can therapy work on those current problems, but also gives tools to deal with future problems.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We will have a free initial phone consultation. We'll chat about the nature of the problem and figure out if I am a good fit. If not, I'm happy to provide referrals to other clinicians that can better serve you.
If we both decide we should work together, I'll send some intake paperwork online and get your booked for your first session. Sessions are 45-50 minutes and are typically once/week, though some clients come more often, some less.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a master's degree in clinical social work from Florida State University.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
My standard session rate is $120 for 55 minutes. Sliding scale is available through Open Path Collective for those who qualify.
I am an in-network provider for Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield and Medicare. I am an out-of-network provider for other insurance companies, which means that you would pay me then submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement.
I accept all major credit cards, checks, and cash. You may use HSA accounts for therapy services.
How did you get started in this business?
Before opening my own practice in 2018, I was a member of a group practice.

What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
** Am I willing to talk to about my problems to someone I barely know?
-- Seems obvious, but sometimes folks just aren't ready to 'put it all out there.' While you don't have to reveal every thing about yourself, it can slow progress when important pieces are left out because of shame or guilt. Remember, a therapist should be a non-judgemental ally and advocate. As we like to say, "nothing leaves these 4 walls."
** Am I ready to make a committment to be my best self?
-- Therapists don't have magic wands (if only!) and you are going to need to be committed to being better. Sometimes folks come in at the urging of a loved one -- they may not see the issue as a problem. If you don't think you have a problem, you probably have no interest in changing. That's ok... but therapy probably isn't right for you at this time. The people that are the most motivated to change are those that acknowledge that *something* isn't going right, even if they aren't sure what it is.
