I have been working in accounting for over 30 years. I obtained my CPA certification and have worked with several different industries and company sizes.
I love bookkeeping because it really gives me a chance to get to know my clients. My role is meant to relieve my clients from the responsibilities of everyday bookkeeping tasks, so they can concentrate on the reason they actually went into business in the first place.
I really love working with all different types of companies and meeting new people! I love the detail work of bookkeeping and that is why I do it.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First I discuss with the customer what their needs may be for their specific company. I like to look at their prior Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss Statement, to see what types of accounts they use. We will talk about the company and their general accounting record keeping. Once I get a clear understanding of the company and what they do, I get access to any bank accounts and credit card accounts so I can begin entering or downloading the transactions.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Missouri State University and my CPA License. I worked as an auditor with the Missouri Department of Revenue for 11 years and as a State and Local Tax Consultant with my own company for 10 years. I then worked at a Global CPA firm for 2 years before starting my own Bookkeeping business in 2016.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
I charge my customers on an hourly basis at $45.00 per hour. This is for standard Bookkeeping services. For State and Local Tax Consulting services, my billing is dependent on the type of services needed. For research and consulting, I charge an hourly rate. For Sales/Use Tax return preparation I charge per return. For review services, I charge on a contingent fee basis.
