Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We like to meet face to face to get a better idea if we can work together. Once we have met and decide to go forward we like the client to drop off 1 to 3 years of thier tax returns and the current year tax documents. We try very hard to have complete and accurate returns prepared and ready for pick up within 5 to 7 business days.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have an associate degree in business and finance. My CPA license requires 40 hours of continuing professional education each year.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Accounting services are billed at our normal hourly rate. Tax preparation is billed based on the forms required. Business returns average approximately $450 to $550. Personal returns for a married couple that own a home average $280 to $350. We also process payrolls.
How did you get started in this business?
My father was a CPA. I started parttime during the tax season and fell in love with the work.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Small to medium sized business customers. Individuals from students to mulit millionaries.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Don't try to do it all. Surround yourself with bright people. How much money to do you make entering data into a bookkeeping program?
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
What am I really looking for? Is the firm professional, educated, available for questions?
