Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new client?
We generally will start off with a phone and/or face-to-face meeting. I prefer at least one face-to-face within the first 6 months because it makes future communication simpler.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been working full time in the tax preparation industry since 1993 and have had my CPA license since 1997.
Do you have a standard pricing system? If so, please share the details here.
The cost varies based on the complexity of the return, estimated time to complete and quality of the accounting. After discussing the needs of the potential client in more detail and seeing the work, I will provide an estimate of the invoice amount.
How did you get started?
I started as an intern during college. I have never stopped.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I work with individuals and businesses of all sizes and complexity. Over the years, my clients have included large family groups, businesses with many owners and those with only one. My individuals include those with or without businesses of their own, rental properties and just basic W2 with nothing more going on.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I recently had two new clients who each individually were very frazzled because they had gotten behind on their taxes. I was able to reassure them and get them caught up, which eased their concerns tremendously and took a big weight off their shoulders.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a professional in your area of expertise?
Visit with them. Your numbers are personal information. You should be comfortable with the professional who help you with banking, tax and financial planning. I recommend basing your decision on more than just cost.
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their needs?
The cost of taking on a professional to help with taxes and accounting is offset by the savings of time and the lifting of a weight off their shoulders. I suggest considering what you could do in the time you currently spend handling whatever service you are considering handing off.
