FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

Identify goals and get more information about what they are looking for. Decipher whether or not I can help them with their stated goals. Schedule an appointment at a time that works for both and honor their needs and their pace in the process, while not wasting their time and giving them the most value possible for their time and money.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Degrees in Psychology and Social Work.

Certificate in Trauma Studies.

Further education in holistic healing modalities including nutrition, meditation, mind-body practices, motivational interviewing, illness management and recovery, dual disorders (addictions and mental health), EMDR, etc.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.

Private therapy, private pay.

How did you get started in this business?

I've worked in various settings in the mental health field from group homes to inpatient psychiatry and outpatient therapy, with a variety of people from various walks of life and cultures.

What types of customers have you worked with?

Most experience is with adults, but have also worked with teens and children.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?

Do a phone consult first, see how it feels talking with that person and if you're interested in meeting them. Then, give it a few sessions to see if you feel you can trust that provider to guide and support you in working on personal issues. The therapeutic relationship is key for growth and progress to unfold.

What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?

What are my goals, or what am I hoping to accomplish through counseling?

How much time, energy, and money am I willing to invest in personal growth and healing?

What's important to me in my life? What will I be able to do in my life that I'm currently not feeling able to, if I am to heal and move past this period in my life?
