What is Therapeutic Cupping?
There are 2 types of cupping; Stationary and Moving. People are more familiar with the red circles that Stationary cupping can raise. These are NOT bruises. A bruise occurs when there is damage to the tissue. Cupping does not cause tissue damage. It can release stagnation from the tissues, which may result in a mark. The body simply reabsorbs this waste and removes it from the body. Moving cups rarely leave any marking. They work to lengthen muscle fibers, increase circulation (both blood and lymphatic), stimulate collagen repair & production, relieve pain & inflammation, aid with digestive issues, increase range of motion in the joints, and help to break down cellulite, as well as scar tissue and adhesions.
Cupping can be performed anywhere on the body, except where there is heavy hair (scalp). It can be performed on any age from birth to 100+. It is relaxing and soothing. Oftentimes, people report almost instant release of tense area(s). Cupping is also a lasting therapy. You will continue to open the tissues the more you cup them. It can be done for both acute symptoms, and also for long standing issues. It offers fantastic support for any athletic concerts, both pre and post event. There are specific treatments for sciatica, carpal tunnel, and thoracic outlet syndrome (numbness down the arm and into the fingers). It helps to relieve respiratory congestion, sinus pressure & headaches.
There are advanced treatments for cellulitis, lymphatic congestion, lymphadema, Scar tissue, Facial & neck rejuvenation (an all natural way to address fine lines, wrinkles, minimize scarring, diminish bags and discoloration under the eyes, stimulate collagen production in the face and décolleté regions, and relieve allergies and sinus pressure & congestion).

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
To address any areas that they are experincing issues with, and then with that awareness, to explore where the issue is rooted. Working towards resolving the cause, not just the symptom(s). Encouraging a partnership where we work towards balance and bliss!

How did you get started in this business?
I have been working in health and wellness since completing my Doctor of Naturopathy degree in 1993. I have since added additional training and services. Seeing that Edgar Cayce is credited with being the Father of Holistic Health, I applied only to his massage school in Virginia Beach, VA.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Everyone! Professional sports players, semi-pro athletes, kids sports, senior citizens, pregnant women, amputees, visually impaired, Moms & Dads, and even dogs.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I was able to participate in the Miami Marathon. We provided massage for two days before the event, and then at the finish line for people completing their race. It was such a wonderful experience to see the racers supporting each other, even some going back to help someone who had stumbled or needed help to cross the finish line.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Do not be afraid to ask questions. Anyone with qualifications is happy to discuss their training, the types of services they offer, and what are reasonable expectations that they can offer.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
1. Schooling and training. MN does not license Massage Therapist, so anyone can do massage. What certification exams have they passed? Do they regularly participate in Continuing Education training?
2. What are their strengths? Preferred methods of massage?
