About
I have a B.A. and a Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology. I grew up in South America and have been living in the U.S. for the past 28 years. This has enabled me to fully understand the acculturation process and enhanced my understanding and respect for diverse cultures, allowing me to understand my clients needs. As a therapist, I help others in their life transitions, meeting them where they are in their journey and building on strengths to empower, understand their inner dynamics, heal and achieve their goals. I have experience helping people in diverse settings and with different backgrounds in a nonjudgmental and safe environment.
Earlier experience includes: working in outpatient and inpatient settings (Chemical Dependency and Eating Disorders) , correctional facilities and shelters. I have co-faclitated group therapy (refugee and Immigrants, sex offenders, Obsessive-Compulsive, Borderline Personality). I facilitated therapy groups and workshops in different mental health topics. I have work with diverse clients and their families with a wide range of problems and disorders.
I am passionated about this work and enjoy seeing inviduals connect with their own selves. Witnessing the moment they start interracting peacefully with themselves, understanding their defenses, what gets on their ways and finding their voice is very meaninful and powerful.
