About

I do more than talk therapy. I use (and teach) mind body techniques that help clients reduce stress, anger, anxiety, grief, trauma and PTSD when insight is not enough. My approach is emotion-focused. That means I help clients change how they feel (usually about themselves), so they can experience life without fear.

I decided to become a therapist after I learned one of the energy psychology techniques called Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT). I’m still amazed that tapping on acupressure points on your face and chest can have such a calming effect. I am also trained in EMDR, Brainspotting and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), which are all effective with trauma and other issues.

I am particularly interested in working with stressed out adults who find themselves reacting in anger, instead of responding with patience, especially with the people who are most important in their lives.

I love to see and hear clients express wonder and disbelief that they could feel so much better so quickly and easily.

Frequently asked questions

Sessions are usually an hour, and can be as frequent as the client requests.

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.  Despite an undergraduate degree in Journalism, I was a stay-at-home mom with four children until age 51 when I decided to become a therapist.

I can bill almost all health insurance providers except Medicare (although I am in network with some Medicare Supplement plans), and Health Partners (where some policies list me as an out-of-network provider).  For clients who prefer to pay cash, I charge $100, payable at the time of the session.
