What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Review my credentials and qualifications. Then review their documentation to find out how sophisticated they are about taxes and finances in general.
Once an understanding of what is needed, we get to work - after we completely answer any and all questions they have of course.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) - Licensed in Michigan and Oklahoma. Previously on the Board of the Michigan Association of CPA's and on the Michigan Accountancy Foundation's Board as well as others. Also licensed as a Certified Global Management Accountant (CGMA).
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Generally, single filing with only w-2 is $250
Married filing with small business starts at $500.
Depending upon the complexity the cost increases.
How did you get started in this business?
I have worked in Public Accounting for 25 years - since coming to Metro Detroit.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Anything and everything. Small business to multi-billion dollar auto companies. Service, manufacturing, multi-level marketing, construction, self-help healthcare, retail and wholesale. And I specialize in transportation companies.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
A recent client was overpaying their taxes and I found them more than $100k in refunds!
Tax returns are like an iceberg. Only 10% shows above the water and your CPA must get under the surface and find out the details in order to file your taxes correctly. Let's go for a swim - shall we?
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Verify your prospective CPA's credentials. Look them up online - contact the Michigan Association of CPA's. That is for a start.

Do you have to meet each year - face to face?
