Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We start with a free in person or online conversation to discuss what the current needs are and how we can help with achieving them.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
As the Owner. I come with 20+ years as a corporate CIO in West Michigan, and over 25 years of website design, hosting, and marketing/sales experience. 6+ years ago I decided to go on my own and we now service over 300 local West Michigan businesses with our services both for IT, Website, and a huge variety of other technology needs.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Our breakfix hourly rate is usually $100 an hour, but most of our customers keep us on a monthly or annual retainer for unlimited services.
How did you get started in this business?
Always love technology as a kid and just came back into it starting my second career at Amway in Ada, Michigan working in Tech Support for their e-Commerce website at launch www.Quixtar.com. After 5 years left there and went to a high local website design firm. My first career was working as a Recreational Therapist for head injury and later Alzheimer clients for over 15 years as a graduate of Calvin College in Grand Rapids, MI.
What types of customers have you worked with?
In West Michigan all sorts, manufacturing, retail, sales, auto, restaurants, hotels, anyone that needs technology in their business which is pretty much everyone. Projects large and small, from computer and website upgrades, to large data centers and building giant e-commerce websites. We also do alot of phone, security, and site to site connection work.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
I always appreciate this saying in technology I stand by. "I know what I know, more importantly I know what I don't know, but I know who to call." - It's good to find someone who has a strong rolodex in the industry and is respected by their peers.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
The important thing is trying to develop and implement a plan no matter how small or large working together as a team to implement.
