About

IT IS PERSONAL. Every person I come in contact with I try to leave a positive impression. I might not earn your business that day but I might earn a referral or get a suggestion or perhaps constructive education on something I can improve on, wisdom of someone who has learned and lived longer then I or just get a smile to warm my heart and these days those smiles are hard to come by so I'll take them the most!

Every client is different so I work differently for them. Im not always working Monday through Friday 9 to 5 . if needed I'm working late or early hours, or driving to a clients house? Place of work, their gym, daycare.. meeting them where they are at to get the job done I do not charge for these in town running around or phone call and text questions because I know.. I know it's right the right thing to do. I'm here to serve to give my knowledge because, I'm well I'm your accountant.

You are putting all your trust in me so I will go the distance for you and I will become like family not like a sterile clinical professional who seems to always be handing you a bill.

It is my job to find you the solution, credit or extra deductions on your return; locating that extra cash on your balance sheet is just or even more exciting then finding it in my bank account.

If I don't bring in a client, but I can answer a question or help a neighbor out who is in need, well it all comes back around.

My service doesn't need to stand out. It just needs to stick to your heart ❤ as one of the businesses that is still out there helping others no matter what. Especially in these times of uncertainty that we are in currently.

They say there are two things you can always be certain about....Death & Taxes

I don't know about you.. But the reason I got into this career was to help with the stresses of the ladder to not bring the sooner on to quicker!

I love what I do for a living.

I live for what I do that makes me love working.

I live for fishing in our beautiful Michigan Great Lakes in the summer time. Making the leap of faith to venture out to start a small business a few years back has allowed me to be with my family more and start living my best life ever.

I love to go fishing for solutions on calulations and problems for others. I love to audit, investigate and balance what seems to be a knot of a lopsided debit & credit nightmare to create a balance sheet that sings with balanced perfection.

What I enjoy about the work I do is that my personal life and work life run hand in hand.

I run a very personal service for my clients, most of them become close friends because we are building a relationship over years. I have their back, and things come up, questions need answering and matters need to be attended to. Which means, I am always working for my clients even when I am fishing out on our beautiful Michigan Great Lakes.

But I wouldn't have it any other way. I am happiest when I know I am helping another humans within my limits.

I learned from wiser human than I that if you invest in you first the payoff is way more then you could imagine. Putting myself first was naturally foreign to me. I used to work myself to death in an office for many hours under florescent light bulbs and no fresh air rarely taking a lunch and running on energy drinks and espresso. I would crash eventually needing to take a personal day but I still worked from home on that personal day. I always thought how I wished I could just work from home always in the natural light that shown through my large bay windows, with my green smoothie drink next to me because I had access to my Nija blender. My cats curled up on the sofa. "Wouldn't that be great some day" I never missed a beat at work either those days working at home, with today's technology I could do everything from my house (heck my 8 yr old niece can almost run all my apps from her Barbie tablet). Never did I think it would be a reality.

Investing in myself was deciding what kind of work day I wanted. Then after a little planning, taking that leap of faith to make it happen.

My work is part of me but because I know I have chosen that I am in control. I have put myself first. I love my work. It's fun and enjoyable and I live to do it and serve others!

    Frequently asked questions

Typically I like to have an initial "Hi my name is Jane, I like the color green. Wanna be friends?" kind-of-conversation to see if truly we will get along on the play ground.  Humans are a good judge of character, it takes but a brief conversation to tell if the relationship should move forward or not. I love working with the public and I have not yet had that conversation where one of the parties decided not to move forward past "Get-to-know-you".

Next... I LISTEN. What does the possible new client need? If they are not sure. Then what are their questions or concerns? It does no good to go on about what my skills, expertise and services are or even prices (because I know that is the their next question) until I know if I am even the correct professional to help them.

Next... ASK THEM FIRST HOW THEY WANT TO SPEND THEIR TIME TIME AND WHAT THEY WANT TO KNOW? The Initail Consultation is usually scheduled for 30 minutes. Out of respect, it's their time, so how do they want to spend it? I can go over my background, history and education. Then of course what services I offer and prices and how I feel I would be of best service to them. Or they can decide how or what I discuss of any of which I just mentioned above.

Basically, what is most important to them as a possible new client. What do they need to know to trust another human with their most confidential and personal tax, banking and identity information. It is a huge decision in choosing a personal accountant and tax preparer, this should not be taken lighly, time and consideration and research and questions need to be asked. You need to be able to put your trust in your accountant and have a long-term relationship with them for years. Smart business is to have an accountant that always has your back and that can eventually train that money of yours to work for you.

If and when we decide to move forward depending on what kind of working relationship. We will discuss pricing and put together an action plan.

INDIVIDUALS, SOLE PROPRIETORS, SINGLE MEMBER LLC'S With these new clients I never draw up contracts or usually put pricing in anything but perhaps an email or text. I feel this takes the personal family-friendly aspect right out of our working relationship. I am a small business owner and I like my work to feel personal because that is what it is personal.

The next step would be gathering information and I would email over a new client information packet this is an auto fillable form it is 18 pages long. Some of the information on the form does pertain to small business for the sole proprietor or single member LLC. I asked the client filled out the form and attaches as well any tax documents, copies of state identification, etc. Federal or State notices, etc depending on the requested project.

I always follow up the action plan in an email to confirm my committed timeline and the various checkpoints and deadlines throughout the project,  depending on what that might be. If I am just filing a tax returns, my email will confirm what my turn around date will be. Usually that is 24 hours (48 hrs w Sch. C) once receiving requested info. from client.

BUSINESSES, CORPORATIONS, PARTNERSHIPS, LIMITED LIABILITY COMPANIES, NON-PROFIT 501(c)3

I treat all my clients the same individual and business like they are family. The only difference is that most of my business clients I usually have contracts drawn up because my projects are long-term and more in-depth and detailed.

The new client orientation is the same. We get to know each other. I listen to what the needs are of the organization. Where I would be the strongest assets for them. Usually I meet a few times with various heads of staff and area supervisors and put my own evaluation together. I would then meet with the organization CPA or internal accountant/bookkeeper and with permission from the Owner/President also the organizations banking and treasury team.

My next step would be to come back to the table with the client with my evaluation vs their evaluation in comparison audited notes. I would have a working meeting with the client to come up with a detailed plan to resolve the immediate needs in 30 & 60 days. Then a complete turn around for what their goals and plans are for 90 days  to 6 months out with 12 months being the absolutely latest push to extend mark.
