Counseling is a very intimate and personal process. I believe it is most important that a person finds a therapist that is a good fit for them. What that looks like can be different for different people. I encourage clients I am meeting with to know that it is not only ok, but important that they think about that as they meet with me or any therapist. It is important that you feel at ease talking with your counselor, that you sense that they get where you are coming from. If that is not your experience with me, I don’t feel it’s personal, rather we are all different and perhaps I may be able to help you find someone whose style is more comfortable for you.
