Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Our process begins with a conversation. We take the time to meet with each new client to understand their goals, needs, and expectations before any work begins. Because every client’s situation is unique, this personalized approach allows us to tailor our services and ensure the best possible outcome.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I bring over 25 years of experience in small business accounting, payroll, and tax services. My professional credentials include Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified in Risk Management Assurance (CRMA), Personal Financial Planner (PFP), Forensic Valuation Specialist (FVS), and Certified Tax Coach (CTC). This combination of experience and advanced certifications allows me to provide well-rounded, strategic, and trustworthy financial guidance.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Fees are based on the tax forms required to complete each return. A $350 base fee applies to individual returns, with most returns typically ranging between $500 and $1,100. Business tax returns start at $1,000, with final pricing determined by the number and type of forms generated upon completion.
How did you get started in this business?
I got started in the tax preparation business by developing a strong interest in helping individuals and small business owners understand and manage their tax responsibilities. Over time, I gained hands-on experience working with a variety of tax situations, which allowed me to build the knowledge and skills needed to provide accurate, reliable service. This experience led me to establish my practice with a focus on clarity, compliance, and personalized support for each client.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I’ve worked with a wide range of clients, including individuals and families, self-employed professionals, small business owners, and entrepreneurs. This includes clients with W-2 income, 1099 income, rental properties, investments, and various business entities. I also assist startups and established businesses with compliance and ongoing tax needs.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
A recent event I’m especially fond of was helping a client navigate a complex tax situation that had been causing them a lot of stress. Seeing their relief once everything was organized, filed accurately, and resolved successfully was very rewarding. Moments like that reinforce why I enjoy this work—helping people feel confident and at ease about their finances.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
When hiring a tax professional, it’s important to clearly communicate your financial situation and your expectations from the start. Make sure the preparer takes time to understand your income sources, business activities, and any major life or financial changes. A good professional will ask detailed questions, explain the process clearly, and ensure their services align with your specific needs before moving forward.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Before meeting with a tax professional, customers should think through their current financial situation and goals. This includes identifying all income sources, business activities, investments, and any major life changes such as marriage, home purchases, or starting a business. Customers should also consider what they want help with—simple tax filing, tax planning, compliance, or ongoing support—and gather any relevant documents in advance. Having clarity on these points helps ensure accurate advice and efficient service.
