We have very reasonable pricing, integretity, preparers that take Continueing Education and are recognized by the State of Maryland and IRS. Owner is Registered Tax Return Preparer. Owner has been doing taxes for 30 years and started out with Eastpoint Tax Service Inc as a receptionist 34 years ago. There are two other preparers one of which has been doing taxes for 20 years and the other 3 years. Each started out as a receptionist. We are also very friendly and care about our clients. We don't want our clients having to pay the Federal or State any more money than is necessary.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We would require ID, a copy of last year's return and a face to face appointment. We would ask lots of questions to determine the best way to file the return. If in the process we see that the previous year's taxes appear to be incorrect, we will look it over thoroughly and if necessary prepare an amended return. We would try to make you feel comfortable and enjoying the visit as much as you can enjoy a visit talking about taxes.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Owner is a Registered Tax Return Preparer who has been doing taxes for 30 years. Originally took H & R Block's tax course. One of the other preparers has been doing taxes for 20 years and the other for 3 years. All preparers take Continuing Education courses each and every year. We are recognized by the State of Maryland and the IRS. All three of the preparers have worked at Eastpoint Tax Service for many years and started out as receptionist/secretary.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Our beginning rate is $90 for a short form only. If itemizing with no other forms the fee is $120. As with all firms there are additional charges based on the forms required to do the return. The additional forms are between $5 - $25 each which is added to the above prices. Business returns vary based on the complexity and amount of time involved to complete. Each schedule C is $25 extra. Each schedule E for rentals is $25 each and covers 2 or 3 rentals. Corporations Start around $250
How did you get started in this business?
I started as the receptionist/secratary, then became a preparer and when the last of the original owner's retired I purchased the business from him in January 2014.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
There are several recent and/or recurring events I am fond of or love! Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter, my daughter's wedding, and vacations to warm places. There are more but I won't list them all.
