What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We talk about their business and individual tax and accounting needs and the differences of working with a CPA. We are available year-round to answer questions and consult with our clients. A typical individual tax preparation appointment lasts one hour, and we will securely efile your federal and state returns without additional fees.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a bachelors degree in accounting and graduated from Assumption College, at the top of my class. I have worked in both large national and regional firms and found my comfort zone at the local firm level. I work one-on-one with small business owners, local and national non-profit organizations, condominium associations, and have taught QuickBooks classes througout my career. My strongest asset is my ability to learn, I enjoy a minium of 40 hours continuing professional education per year, and I thrive when using the newest technology to best serve my clients and keep their data secure.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Individual income tax preparation ususally starts at $270, and I offer discounts for my Senior client base. Audits, reviews and compilations of financial statements are priced to meet each unique clients specific needs. Bookkeeping is based upon a monthly fee depending on each clients unique needs.
How did you get started in this business?
I prepared taxes in high school for my friends, and loved the details of the numbers. Much like my favorite pastime, working in my garden, each client and every return tells its own unique story and must be nutured, and properly attended to in order to produce the best results.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Condominium associations, non-profit organizations, contractors, financial advisors, beauty salons, photographers, physicians and attorneys.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
How long has that person been in business, and can they personally return your phone calls? Have they offered to provide you business growth advisory services or ways to help you understand your financial statements?
