Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The most important part in meeting a new client is finding our about their specific situation, including review of past tax returns when possible. Reassuring the client as to their tax position and what may be advantageous in the future is also critical.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I began with a national franchise and took their 60 hour training course four times and instructed the course five times. After 10 years and working as the office supervisor, I moved on to work with another national chain and then on to a CPA office where I spent five years.
I took and passed the Internal Revenue Service'd Registered Tax Return Preparer exam in 2012. I have continued my training through numerous CPE courses over the years.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
I set my fees based on the national average prices listed by professional organizations. Complexity of the return is also a factor, but only in regard to the amount of detail required to properly complete the various schedules. I do not base prices on number of W-2 or 1099 forms.
