Liberty Tax Service
About
With all of the new tax changes and updates, I always prepare a return with the client's individual situations in mind. I try to help with any missing documents by contacting the company or health connector or by helping the client create accounts for IRS and DOR, etc.
I enjoy preparing returns, difficult returns, easy returns, individual and business returns. I like getting to know clients and learning things about them, i.e. child on the way, buying or selling a house, taking in a loved one to care for, etc.; and not to just give them guidance for their next years return, but to have a connection with them.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I prefer all new customers to schedule an appointment so that I can make sure I give them all of my attention during their appointment and they don't feel rushed. After gathering all of the information I need, I collect their paperwork and then ask if they have any additional documents (and I will specify other documents, which may jog their memory of something that happened at the beginning of the year). I then review the return with the client and answer their questions and may make suggestions. They will then walk out the door with a copy of their return and hopefully they will feel good about their experience with Liberty Tax
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been in the tax preparation field since 1997. I began as a data entry person and in one year became the lead tax advisor for that company. I eventually purchased Liberty Tax Service in 2015 and have 5 employees and hope to grow. Since high school, I have also been a bookkeeper for Friendly Ice Cream and currently have several clients who's bookkeeping I work with and then also prepare their tax returns. Every year, I am required to take several tests to be able to prepare tax returns. Eventually, I hope to become an enrolled agent for the IRS.
