How did you get started in this business?
Saw a message posted on Twitter for a new business looking for an independent tax preparer that could complete their first years tax return that wasn't going to cost a lot, as the quote that they had received was outrageous for what they needed. Completed their tax return and made an offer to do their monthly accounting work and future tax returns.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Find out what their experience and education is from and see if it fits into what you are looking for. Also, ask to see if they have any references that you can verify to ensure that they are reliable. If seeking a tax professional, check the IRS website to ensure that they are a registered tax professional.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
What type of services are you looking to have completed as some types of accounting work might be suited for a person that specializes in particular business areas or has the experience in that particular area.
