What is your typical process for working with a new client?
We offer a free initial consultation where we tell clients about our firms mission, process, and how we engage. We learn about the client and/or their business, then we provide a written plan of action for services.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Chasity is a Certified Public Accountant licensed by the state of Louisiana. She holds degrees in Accounting, Human Resource Management, and Respiratory Care Science. She has worked in private accounting for seven years, and public accounting for nine years serving various clientele in a wide range of professions.
Do you have a standard pricing system? If so, please share the details here.
We adopt a flat rate billing procedure where we determine a clients annual needs for all services and break that down into an easily affordable monthly flat rate.
How did you get started?
Chasity started her accounting career in the oil & gas industry working as a controller for small oilfield service companies. She opened Hooks CPA in February 2008 with the mission of helping small to midsized businesses.
What types of customers have you worked with?
We work with individuals and small to midsized businesses in various industries including: retail, medical, oil field, electrical, plumbing, restaurant/bar, property management, insurance, financial advisors, attorneys, entertainers, motivational speakers, and online retailers.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a professional in your area of expertise?
A CPA should be an advisor for your business and it is a personal relationship. You should interview the person you are considering to determine that they understand your needs and vision for your business.
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their needs?
Most customers are initially focused on costs. Yes costs are important, however, a good CPA should be an advisor. That means they should save you enough money to cover the costs.
