Typical process is first have them complete a new customer data sheet, and sign a few documents to engage in service. Next, Ask a few questions about their past filing and their current financial picture.

Standard pricing system with fixed pricing
A simple return - mean Filing Status Single or Married filing Separately just w2 and income under 75k (may also include interest income, school credit) - $100
Standard Return - filing status Single, Head of Household and income under 110k(may include EIC, child tax credit, etc) - $150
Extensive Return - any Filing Status, income under 160k(includes Itemization) - $175
Small Business Return- any Filing Status, any income (include self-employment)
Business Returns - includes Corp, S-Corp, Partnerships etc - $250
