MasterType Accounting & Business Services, P.C. specializes in working with restaurants with between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000 in gross annual sales. We help these businesses to increase their profit margin by up to 25% by helping them to control the cost of inventory. We also help them to become more profitable by maximizing deductions (expenses) through streamlined methods of dealing with vendors. We also help restaurants to cut down on employee turnover by working with the business owner(s) to help them offer employee benefits that can help minimize employee turnover and employer payroll taxes.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Potential clients contact me either by email or by phone and we discuss the specific needs the potential client has, and why the potential client is looking for a new accountant (bookkeeper, payroll service provider, tax preparer, etc.). We discuss the potential client's expectations (what the potential client expects from the person/company they are looking to hire), and what the client is looking for regarding turnaround time.
I obtain all information regarding the potential client (type of entity - sole proprietor, partnership, LLC, corporation; EIN - especially if the business has employees; mailing address and physical address (if different); contact information for the person or people I will be working with; phone number and email address of main contact person). Once I have this information, I will create an engagement letter for each type of service the potential client needs (separate engagement letters are required for accounting/bookkeeping, income tax preparation, and payroll services). I will email the engagement letter to the potential client for signature. Work does not begin with the potential client until a signed engagement letter has been received from the potential client, along with the required retainer (included in the engagement letter).
All documents will be sent through our secure client portal. Potential clients will receive username and password information in a separate email granting the potential client to a secure client portal on our website. We DO NOT send or receive documents via email for security purposes.
