Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I begin with a brief phone interview, gathering basic information and determining how I can best be of help. I determine first exactly what services the client is looking for, then ultimately determining a plan together to see their needs are met.
If they decide to go ahead, I will send out all forms and paperwork needed electronically, most documents clients will be able to sign online.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I hold a B.A in accounting and business management, and a federal tax professional license. I have experience in law firms handling high dollar IRS claims, and small business. I am also currently and instructor in tax law/ tax preparation, and accounting principles
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Tax Preparation for individuals is generally a set standard fee. Business taxes can vary slightly depending on complexity and business size. We are flexible on a person to person basis. If for example you have a less complex return, we can adjust prep fees accordingly.
Tax Resolution Services can differ depending on the type of representation to be preformed. the best way to determine a quote for this area is to call for a free, no obligation consult
How did you get started in this business?
My start was as an intern at a law firm specializing in representing clients in front of the IRS and State tax bodies.. I was instantly impressed with truly how much tax professionals can help people. From there I prepared returns for several firms working my way up in complexity.
From there my first role in management came at a major tax prep chain, managing one office at first, then eventually the district. Later, I would hold a dual role at a private firm as sales manager and tax director.
After eight years of field experience, it was time to start my own practice.!
What types of customers have you worked with?
I work with a variety of individuals and small businesses, though we specialize in the self employed, we work with a host of professions, from W2 to 1099
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I am most fond of a recent client who owed over $100000 in back taxes to the IRS, and was being garnished. By examiniation of his life habits and expenses, we were able to negotiate his debt down to less than $5000! and also freed his paycheck from further garnishment. We live for moments like these where we can make a difference in someone's life
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Your professional should be confident in his work, and able to explain exactly what they plan to do to improve your situation. Make sure they are accessible and have experience in your specific needs, also they should have no issue explaining how to find them on the IRS directory of tax professionals.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Think not so much about the professionals fees, but rather its benefit to you. Tax professionals who are properly skilled can save you tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars. Be ready to make a change if it makes sense, taxes will never stop, but the amount you have to pay, can.
