About
Relationships provide great opportunities to feel belonging, love, and acceptance. In seeking connection with others, several challenges can arise that mystify our experience and make our chances of a rewarding connection seem so far away. It has been my mission to help couples, families, and individuals clear away that confusion and lift roadblocks to connection and happiness. As a Marriage and Family Therapist, I offer unique and practical insight for those looking to improve their relationships and life satisfaction. Therapy with me is collaborative-I value your feedback and will tailor therapy to address your unique goals and needs.
My work with couples primarily addresses conflict, communication, intimacy, infidelity, and separation contemplation. I work with families looking to address conflict, parenting, child behavioral/emotional issues, step-family/blended family cohesiveness, and coping after a loss. My work with individuals addresses depression, anxiety, life transitions, self-esteem, and personal fulfillment.
At Northwestern University, I completed my doctoral degree in Marriage and Family Therapy - training in systemic, integrative, and scientifically-validated therapy approaches. Prior, I worked as a group therapy facilitator for children and adolescents with behavioral and emotional dysregulation. For appointments/questions, feel free to call.
I am a licensed clinical psychologist and AASECT certified sex therapist. My therapeutic style is warm and genuine. I value a team approach to client work. I utilize gender responsive treatment informed by relational therapy, and implement mind-body techniques to build self-awareness. I view clients within their social and cultural context, with the intention of helping individuals develop into their most authentic selves. My clinical specialties include: couples and intimacy, sexual functioning, compulsive sexual behavior, BDSM, and trauma. I am also attuned to the needs of the LGBT community, and have years of experience working with clients across the gender and sexuality spectrum.
Laughter is a large part of my work with clients. Therapy should be challenging, but can also be fun. My style is direct but compassionate, and my goal is to help you live a more meaningful and joyful life.
